Happy Mother’s Day
I absolutely love my mother, and am a self-proclaimed “mama’s girl.” I am so blessed to have strong, godly women in my life—starting with my own mom.
No cards, boxes of chocolates or flowers can compensate for all the hard work mothers do, or for all the love they give. I’m not just talking about natural mothers, either.
Motherhood isn’t just about whether you’ve given birth. Many people can fulfill the role of a mother when they give the love and attention mothers give. Motherhood is about nurturing, admonishing, guiding, loving, comforting, caring and gentleness.
1 Thess. 2:7 but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. (NIV)
Mother’s Day is a great time to reconcile mother-child relationships, to forgive past hurts, and move forward in the newness of life.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, godmothers, grandmothers, sisters, fabulous aunties, and women who are “like a mother” in our lives.
